Introduction

This Item contains a select list of the large and growing number of web sites that link to the CBNRM Net web site. The sites listed cover a broad range of subjects, including advocacy, development / aid, knowledge management, natural resource management, research, training and capacity building, and strategic communication. Some are focused on specific sectors or subsistence practices. Others cover a specific country or present an NGO. Organizations and NGOs that CBNRM Net is a member of are included. The links include general references to CBNRM Net website as well as to specific pages and documents. In several cases, the references organizations and projects have closed, and the respective websites are not anymore available.

While these web sites in many cases are listed elsewhere on the CBNRM Net web site, it is worthwhile to list them together here, in the interest of acknowledging them, to reciprocate links to the CBNRM Net web site, to contribute to the sharing and dissemination of CBNRM knowledge and experiences, as witness of the growing collaboration and networking between stakeholders in the global CBNRM community of practice, as evidence of the growing CBNRM hyperlink network, and as proof of the increasingly important role of CBNRM.

Community Knowledge Center (CKC).   Comments: Managed by UNDP Jordan, the CKC is an information center that aims to provide interested individuals and professionals working in the field of community development in Jordan with a "one-stop-shop" for the retrieval and exchange of development information and data. East Asia and Pacific Environmental Initiative (EAPEI).   Comments: The goal is to improve environmental conditions and quality of life by increasing environmental capacity and knowledge in the East Asia and Pacific region through joint State/USAID and partner efforts. The objective is to establish an efficient, transparent and effective grants program contributing to accomplishing the EAPEI goal. The EAPEI implements through agreements with US federal agencies, international and regional organizations, universities and USAID-registered non-governmental organizations.

The GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF/SGP).   Comments: GEF/SGP's mission, governance, management and internal procedures constitute innovative responses to the spirit and mandate of the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. The GEF’s mission is the protection of the global environment. It forges international cooperation and finances actions to address six critical threats to the global environment: biodiversity loss, climate change, degradation of international waters, ozone depletion, land degradation, and persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
